Healthy Money Habits
How important is it to you to have healthy money habits? Almost everything we do these days requires for us to have money to do it. unfortunately more and more of us have less and less of this necessity. Between the bills and car payments to the amount of gas we have to spend to get to the jobs is more than enough to make me growl. The jobs don’t seem to pay enough to take care of it all.
How do we get more of this green stuff called money? Back in my day we could earn extra money by picking up cans. It was killing two birds with one stone. We were picking up garbage and turning in the cans for money. Cleaning the earth. That isn’t as helpful today. The price for tin went way down. Now you need to have a whole bunch for it to be worth your time. We go to work, so we don’t have that kind of time.
So, What are some other ways. We could pick up pennies. Every penny we pick up puts us closer right? Only one problem. Things are a lot more expensive these days. Pennies do add up, so don’t stop picking them up. But seriously, its the same as tin. Just not enough. If you have a hobby of looking for buried treasure with your metal detector, don’t stop. Try the beach!
Now a days, a lot of ways to earn extra money are online. It takes two incomes to run one household. If you have children it can be even more difficult, especially if you are a single parent. Many of us are always looking for ways to save and earn extra money. While it may be hard, it’s not impossible. People are succeeding at this all the time.
Have you tried couponing. Look for all the different apps for couponing or getting money back on your normal grocery list. We live in a world of technology, so just about everything can be done from our smart phones. We can even photograph our receipts and send them in to some of these places fo rebates on our groceries. Everyday living made a little simpler.
I heard a saying by some people I look up to. They said,”Save some, Spend some, Give some. I think that is a good habit to get into. It’s important to have healthy money habits. I can tell you all about what having unhealthy money habits looks like. I can also tell you how hard it is to get out of the consequences of such habits.
It leads to debt, which leads to stress. It destroys marriages and relationships of all kinds. The need for more, more, more is called greed. If you are just trying to have your daily needs met then I don’t think that’s greed. Wanting your rent to be paid and to be able to afford to eat and watch tv like everybody else. I don’t think that’s greed.
No, what I’m talking about is if you have to eat out everyday because your too lazy to make your lunch. Or if you need a new piece of jewelry or perfume just to be happy. That’s greed. If you have clothes that fit and are decent but you need new clothing every week. That could border on greed. Our lifestyles have made many of us greedy. Most of us don’t even realize it until it’s taken away.
If you’re trying to feed yourself or your children. I get it. me too, I want them to have the best and sometimes we can’t give it to them. It breaks my heart to see how many people can’t take care of themselves. They work, some of them more than one job and still can’t afford to feed their families. Yet other people have way too much and hardly work at all.
Work, Work, Work
What are they doing that we are not? How can we work smarter and not harder. How do we create healthy money habits? I don’t know about others but I can tell you that for myself I have started looking online for extra ways to earn income. I know it’s out there. Soon I will be a stay at home mom again and I need to find a way to be able to earn extra income. To help out with the bills.
My blog has become my project. It has given me new ideas on how to make better and more healthy habits. I have loved writing for a long time and reading as well. About 9 years ago I remember telling a friend,”I just wanna write”. Of course at that time I had no idea how or what or anything else for that matter. In my blog I have begun to focus on habits. Today it was about money.
What could you offer someone else. How could you make someone’s or even your own life better? What could you do better today? Just for today, what goal could you move yourself closer too? There are so many ways to help others. If you would like to start your own blog click here. If you would like more ideas on how to make some extra cash check out believeinabudget.com
