Who has hormonal issues? Do you need hormonal help? Wellllllll! If your a female I imagine it’s an all the time problem. Some males have this issue too, but mostly females are the ones more likely to burst into tears or consider hurting someone on a sometimes daily basis. Our loved ones really don’t know how much there lives are sometimes at risk! And very few really understand what it takes to control these.
Now, Imagine you just had a baby. Those hormones are making you and probably a few others a little crazy. I know that’s the case with myself. During the pregnancy I thought I was hormonal and a little crazy. After I had the baby…. I thought that was all done for the most part. Boy was I was wrong. The hormones are even worse. My mom had to come stay with me for a little while to help out with the baby and my two year old. At one point I was even a little concerned for people’s safety.
I ended up setting up counseling as well because I could see I was being triggered. I have seen way to many negative stories on the Facebook of women who went into depression after having a baby and seriously injuring someone or worse, and it was usually the babies. Not wanting to be one of those women helped me makes some important decisions. However I am one of those people that does not want to be on medication. I have previous experience on medication. So I began searching for what I could do.
Taking care of ourselves can be very difficult sometimes. Especially if it was not taught to you as a child. There is how much food you eat and water you drink. Then there is weather or not you get enough exersice. I have heard many times that our bodies are like machines and if you don’t give it what it needs then it don’t work the way it should.
So I started searching….
Do you have any cures for this? I don’t. But, I found something very helpful. It’s called Maca Powder and it is suppose to level out hormones. There is my hormonal help. Maca is a peruvian root that grows up in the mountains in Peru. It is from the radish family. I have found no negative trials of weather it is unsafe for nursing or pregnant mothers. I did however find some word of mouth testimonies of its usage during those times.
Anyway, it has been so helpful for me. I use the powder form and put it mainly in my protein drink in the mornings. Also it can be used in milk, shakes or as a hot tea. It taste great in fruit or veggie smoothies and works well in coffee with a little honey. Works well in oatmeal with some brown sugar too.
It has helped me move out of these rage filled hormonal issues I have been having. The week I didn’t use it, I was a crazy mess. Had to leave work several times and sometimes not go in because of the excessive crying for no reason or the anxiety. Many things around the house were getting broken. I felt like a person on the outside watching a horror movie of myself acting in crazy ways. At one point I ripped a door the rest of the way off the hinges. I’m not very strong, but the hormones were in control and I didn’t know what to do about it.
Then I remembered the Maca powder I had used before
It’s not for everyone but it has been a huge help for me. There are a lot of uses, such as its suppose to boost energy and is good for the reproductive system in both men and women. This past week at home and work has been the best week I have had in the last four months since having the baby. I believe I owe it all to the maca powder. It feels nice to feel a little more normal and a little less crazy.
