Do You Know How To Meditate
We all say we don’t know how to meditate. Little do we know that we are lying. If we know how to worry (which many of us are really good at) then we know how to meditate. Meditation is simply focusing on one thing and staying focused on it for a while. I thought of meditation because I was worrying myself real good, earlier. While I was doing my daily reading I came across Luke 12:22-34. Where it tells me to seek first his kingdom and he will make sure everything else is taken care of. And also at the end that whatever I consider my treasure that that’s where my heart will be.
Where is my treasure?
It’s telling me not to worry about whether or not my spouse paid the rent. He is working so it is taken care of. Not to worry about the kids having clothes or food. It’s taken care of. That includes how good or bad I’m doing with my goals. My job is to put my best foot forward and allow him to do the rest. Even on my blog here. I’m bound and determined to make mistakes. I’m not perfect and learning all I’m currently doing has a huge learning curve. The fact that I’m having some problems with my two-year-old and think I will have to have him evaluated should also not be a worry. God made me his mother for a reason. He allowed me to screw up with my firstborn for a reason and it made me a better mother because of it.
Pain made me better
You see there really are so many things we can worry about and it is the same thing as meditation. But we can choose what we focus on and that is what changes the word worry to meditation. We can choose to focus on everything wrong in our lives or on what we can do about it. If we can’t do anything about it then we can choose to focus on making our reactions to it (whatever IT is for you) better. Today you can make a choice to control your reaction or to at least look for ways to control your reaction. If you just can’t see past the problem then I encourage you to research people who are going through the same things you are. Maybe they can help you get past it or at least give you someone to talk to about it.
Only you know what you are going through.
My e-mail is always open and I may or may not know anything about what you’re going through. But I can be an ear if you don’t have anyone. Feel free to e-mail me.
