New Year’s Resolution
Most people plan for the new year and make new year’s resolutions. We map out our year and put our goals in place. Some of us have good healthy goals, whiles other’s of us have goals we will never be able to accomplish. While still others of us make our goals knowing that they are unreasonable but we will try anyway. And we do this every year. How can we start our year now without making unaccomplishable goals? My new year’s resolution is to be consistent. I struggle with weight loss and emotional ups and downs. You would think that would be my new year’s resolution. To get that stuff under control. But for myself, I know it is other things causing me to have these problems.X
What are some good new years resolutions that a lot of people have?
Getting into shape
This one is very popular. There are so many diets out there saying that they will help us lose weight, fat or gain muscle today. I look at a lot of them myself. I recently came to the conclusion that most of them that promise quick results are a bunch of hooey. They usually involve pills or some quick fix scheme that makes unreasonable promises. The weight did not get there overnight and it’s not gonna come off overnight either. It will take hard work. You will need to set reasonable goals or you will keep riding the same merry go round and yo-yo dieting rides that many of us are still on.
This new year’s resolution is widespread. We all want to feel good, look good and have good self-esteem. It takes work. Sometimes it is very difficult. As little sugar as possible, lot’s of water and fluids and regular exercise. For those who have other health issues, it requires even more because their issues dictate what they can and cannot eat, drink or the physical activities they can safely participate in.
Saving More Money/ Getting Out Of Debt
How many times do we say we will start the new year saving more money and thereby getting out of debt. Only one problem. We still make the same kind of money. So what can we cut out of our spending to be able to save? Maybe you need to make some charts and a budget. A good place to get info on this kind of stuff is at believe in a budget. One thing is for sure if your already financially strapped then you are not gonna be able to save any money. Even if you put a plan in place. But there are ways to earn extra income.
This new year’s resolution is one of the hardest to come by but if you are willing to do the work then there is nothing you can’t do. There are also a lot of ideas on Pinterest. Many of us have started looking for more ways to make money as the jobs we have don’t pay enough to take care of all the bills we have. Our financial goals often get stomped on by x-mas and birthdays. Other holidays too. But buying gifts the week before our new year’s resolution starts is not helpful. Again anything we put our mind to.
Starting A Journal
Journaling is a great way to get all our emotions out. It also helps us practice our writing if that is something we are trying to do. Journaling can give some people a sense of accomplishment and provide a way to be creative. There are many writing topics. You can write about love, romance, mystery or just your life in general. Writing can be a checklist of your goals or even a documentary of weight loss, eating habits food. Check out this simple food journal. ( Journal and Emotional Eating Control Chart ) Or some other goal you are trying to achieve. You could write about books you read and even start a book club if you so choose. Either way, writing is a good new years resolution.
I have been striving to write more as well. And with all the emotional stuff I have been going through, I think it is a good idea. However, I know it is not a goal or new year’s resolution I would keep. What would you write about? They say the more we practice our writing the better we get. Also, that if we read more, it will help our writing as well. The biggest thing about all this is finding a new years resolution you will enjoy and keep. Something to make you feel like you are accomplishing something in your life.
New Year’s Resolutions
No matter what you choose to make for your new year’s resolution I hope it all works out for the best for you. There really are so many different new year’s resolutions to choose from. The best way to choose one though is to take a good look at your life. Kind of like an inventory of how you see yourself and what accomplishments you are making. Do you have goals that are super important? What are you going to do to accomplish those? How do you go about it? Do you need an accountability partner? Or maybe you are able to do it yourself. If you can only put your mind to it. Whatever the case may be, there are ways for you to succeed. Don’t give up. And if this new year’s resolution doesn’t work out, remember you can start your day over at any moment you want. Maybe not your year, but we don’t need a new year to do a new thing!
